   Modi's 80th Independence Day speech: Sapt Dhara framework, AI skilling for one crore youth, 2036 Olympics preparation¹²³

   From the Red Fort on 15 August 2026 the PM outlined seven 'streams of strength', announced AI training for 1 crore youth within a year and free online coaching for competitive exams, and said India is preparing to host the 2036 Olympics.

   India readies 80th Independence Day with Yuva Shakti theme⁴⁵⁶

   At an 10 August 2026 press conference Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh said the 80th Independence Day ceremony at the Red Fort on 15 August would follow the theme 'Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat@2047' and mark 150 years of Vande Mataram, which would be sung from the ramparts for the first time.

   Deepavali inscribed on UNESCO intangible heritage list at Delhi session⁷⁸⁹

   UNESCO inscribed Deepavali on its Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on 10 December. The decision came at the 20th session of the Intergovernmental Committee, held for the first time in India at the Red Fort.
