US shifts to Section 301 tariffs after Supreme Court struck IEEPA duties; India in 10%345
The US imposed a 10% Section 301 tariff on Indian goods effective 24 July 2026, in a forced-labour action covering about 60 economies, replacing the temporary 10% Section 122 surcharge that expired that day. India was first proposed for 12.5% in June but was placed in the lower 10% tier after amending its foreign trade policy on 14 July to ban imports made with forced labour. The sweeping IEEPA reciprocal tariffs had been struck down by the US Supreme Court in February 2026.
