   Trump signed H.R. 5334, the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026, on 18 September 2026. It widens sanctions and tariff powers; the extra 25% levy on India had been removed in February 2026.

   US House passes Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act with up to 100% tariff power⁵⁶⁷

   The House agreed to the Senate amendments 262 to 159 on 16 September 2026 (the Senate passed it 86 to 11 in August). The Act authorises, but does not impose, tariffs of up to 100% on major buyers of Russian energy, which could expose India.
